In my quest to see all of the NASA facilities, I am honored to receive a special tour of the NASA Glenn Research Center near Cleveland Ohio as a result of being selected for NASA Tweetup in celebration of John Glenn's 50th Anniversary of orbiting the Earth.

The Tweetup will be held this Friday, March 2, 2012. You can follow all of the action from all of the tweeps by search the hash tag #NASATweetup on Twitter. Portions of the Tweetup will also be televised live on NASA TV. Also, I might be streaming live on my UStream Channel at or embedded over in the Video section of

This is the first NASA Tweetup in my home state of Ohio and I'm sure @flyingjenny and @apacheman would be proud - well @apacheman would. Jen would just make fun of Ohio :)

Anyway, we get a personal welcome from Glenn’s Center Director Ray Lugo and NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden. We then get to tour the Zero Gravity Research Facility/Exercise Countermeasures Lab and the famous Hangar at GRC.

Our next stop is the NASA Glenn Visitor Center at Great Lakes Science Center after which we head over to Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center for Tribute Event and a Tweetup Q&A session with Senator John Glenn - the first American to orbit the Earth - What an honor! And when you can kick back in your Chuck's and rock the sunglasses like Senator Glenn, you just know you're an astronaut :)

We round out the program with Astronaut Gregory H. Johnson, (@Astro_Box and other Ohio Astronauts. Check out this great poster with some of the Ohio Astronauts. @flyingjenny is getting this poster framed for Christmas this year ;)

I'd like to thank NASA the entire NASA Tweetup team for putting together such great programs and giving us great access to things most people will never see.

Check back later and on my Flickr page for pictures and videos from the Tweetup

See you all on Friday.
